Teachers! Where would we be without them?

Teachers—where would we be without them? ️

During these uncertain times, teachers are challenged with navigating the new world of tele-learning and tele-teaching.

Teachers have been instrumental throughout the course of my childhood, from grade school through college and medical school, through my medical training and beyond. From teaching me cursive and geometry to prepping me for medical boards and patient care.

I’m also fortunate to have had the opportunity to experience teachers across continents and places. I went to ten schools by 12th grade, on 3 continents! What I found is that irrespective of geography or culture or resources, teachers around the world have the ability to inspire and mold individuals during such a formative period in life.

As working adults, we may not think we have or need teachers in the traditional sense. But we do—they just come in a different form—that of a mentor. We may not see them as “teachers”, and we need to actively seek these individuals out within our respective fields. But indeed they serve the same mission—to teach, advise, and inspire!
